Thinking About Adoption?

Adoption Gives You Options

Young woman holding pregnancy test sitting on sofa at homeAt Bi-Racial Adoptions, our caring coordinators are here to listen, support, and walk alongside you every step of the way. If you’re facing an unplanned pregnancy, you’re not alone, and for many women, creating an adoption plan has been a loving, hopeful answer.

Open adoption gives you the freedom to make the choices that matter most to you. You can choose the adoptive parents for your child, decide what type of contact you’d like after placement, and shape how your hospital experience looks and feels. Bi-Racial Adoptions works with pre-screened, qualified adoptive families across the country of various religions, personalities, and backgrounds, and you can read about them, email them, or talk with those who feel like the right fit. Every family has completed thorough screening and background checks and is ready to adopt, but if you’d rather have us select a family for you, we’re happy to do that, too.

Today, most adoptions are open or semi-open, meaning you choose the family and create a relationship that includes ongoing contact after adoption. When it comes to the hospital, you remain in control: who is in the delivery room, who cuts the cord, whether you see your baby, and every other detail. These decisions are always yours, and we’re here to support you through each one.

You can call or text us at 1-800-923-6784 to talk through your adoption options in a safe, private, and completely confidential space. We can give you the support and help you need as you consider if adoption is the best choice for you, with no pressure or obligation to take the next step unless and until you’re ready.

How will my baby benefit from an open adoption?

Children who are able to talk with or learn about their birth parents often feel more confident and secure than children in closed adoptions. Open adoption helps answer the questions many adopted children naturally have, like why adoption was chosen and what that decision meant.

When kids don’t have these answers, they may blame themselves or feel confused. Open adoption can also give them important information about their family background, genetics, and medical history. Here are some key benefits your child will receive:

  • Knowing they were deeply loved and that you wanted the very best for them.
  • Understanding why they were adopted, rooted in your care and intention.
  • Access to information about their biological family.
  • Knowledge of genealogy and important medical history.
  • The opportunity for ongoing communication and connection with you.

How do I get started with open adoption?
